Well, I made it here safely and I really enjoy it. I arrived at 2:00AM on Aug 14th (Indian time). It has been a pretty easy transition for me so far. I thought it would be much harder at the beginning, but I told myself I would enjoy it and not be nervous, and it worked! It was that easy.
The children here are amazing! They call me Heather Akka (akka: older sister). Heather is a strange name to them, so many times they will call me Feather Akka since they know the English word, feather. It's so cute!
There are 7 kids in the orphanage. I am supposed to be teaching them more English than what they know, but they already know a lot.
Jet lag? I don't have very much (thank God!) which is really good since the time here is 11 1/2 hrs different than Oregon.
Today, Aug. 15th is India's Independence day which is wonderful to share with them here! I think we are having a celebration tonight.
Sorry, that was short, choppy, sweet and informative, but that's what you get (I'm trying to be fast).
Anyway, I love you all and miss you!
I will try to write again soon!
