I am helping with a children's Bible school this week, starting tomorrow. I am teaching, but I'm not having a specific class like I am used to. That's ok, because I enjoy trying new things. However, I normally like to know what I'm going to do each day and have everything planned out so that I don't "mess up." Ha! Looks like things aren't going to be as planned out as I had hoped... let's put it this way: I am being stretched.
I was nervous about it until I talked with someone. She said, "Just go expecting to have fun, and be flexible."
All of a sudden I had peace and was excited about it. As I thought about it more, I realized that sometimes we plan things out so much that we don't give any room for God to do something spontaneous. I just realized that with such a flexible schedule, God can really do what He wants to do. Since He is so good and so big, He must be planning some pretty awesome things! Things we can't quite fully comprehend yet.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't plan things out, I'm saying that when it's out of your hands, you can still be excited about it and expect great things from it.
...'sigh'....Flexibility, it's a good thing. ;)
